Curriculum and Instruction
Our curriculum offers a structured, age-appropriate learning journey that builds foundational skills throughout the academic year. Instruction emphasizes language development, cultural literacy, and steady skill progression in a supportive and dynamic classroom environment. Hanyu Pinyin is integrated across all grade levels to establish a rigorous foundation in pronunciation and language acquisition.
Lessons are designed to develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through immersive and interactive activities. Our highly qualified and bilingual faculty utilize diverse instructional approaches, including guided practice, group work, and cultural enrichment, to foster active participation and meaningful learning. To optimize language immersion while ensuring full comprehension, instruction is delivered primarily in Mandarin and strategically supported with English.
Beyond the classroom, we enhance the student experience through a variety of activities such as Read-Aloud Contest, “One Chinese Character at a Time” hallway vocabulary booster series, and the interactive "Quiz Time" challenges in electronic newsletter. These initiatives, along with student performances during our signature Chinese New Year Celebration reinforce language usage, spark curiosity, and embrace our community’s ongoing engagement with Chinese culture.
